After an epic Game 3 of the World Series that lasted 18 innings and 6 hours, 39 minutes, Shohei Ohtani must turn around and pitch later the same day in Game 4.
Derek Jeter isn’t sure how his body will react.
“I don’t know, I’ve never pitched before,” the Yankees legend said on the Fox Sports post-game show. “You know what I mean?”
Ohtani reached base nine times (four extra-base hits, five walks) in the Dodgers’ 6-5 victory in Game 3, breaking the postseason record and tying the most ever in a single game, per Fox Sports.
“We know how we felt after playing a game at short, at third, at DH because we played long games against each other, and you wake up and you feel it,” Jeter said.
