ANDERSON, S.C. (WSPA) - An Anderson County woman is facing multiple charges after she allegedly stole thousands of dollars from a nonprofit meant to help veterans.

According to Anderson County Sheriff's Office, Katherine Brooke Farmer, 39, has been charged with breach of trust with fraudulent intent after investigators said she stole money from Vets Helping Vets Anderson.

The sheriff's office said between April and October 2025 Farmer, while acting as the treasurer for Vets Helping Vets, used the charity's money to cover retail expenses, medical bills and her personal finances. She's accused of spending more than $17,340 in stolen money.
