Conan Doyle, to the big screen in a new British-Indian co-production titled Elementary, My Dear Holmes. The upcoming film explores the author’s personal and moral struggles while reflecting the sharp investigative instincts that inspired his iconic fictional detective.
The biopic is set in early 20th-century London, in the year 1906, portraying a turbulent chapter in Doyle’s life. The story follows him as he grapples with emotional conflicts, including his terminally ill wife’s wish that he marry another woman, even as he becomes entangled in real cases of injustice.
According to Variety, the film will chronicle Doyle’s involvement in defending George Edalji, a British-Indian lawyer wrongfully convicted of animal mutilation, and Oscar Slater, another victim of judicial prejudice. Through
