Among the red-hot signing targets will be versatile Storm ace Tyran Wishart, while the future of Broncos prodigy Coby Black has become fascinating after Brisbane’s bombshell move for Jonah Pezet from 2027 onwards.

When this year’s transfer green light flashes for players off-contract at the end of 2026, teams will now have to compete for signatures with an expansion club — Perth Bears — that has an entire $12 million salary cap at its disposal ahead of a 2027 entry to the NRL.
