HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WDAM) - Two people have been arrested after allegedly stealing a vehicle in Hattiesburg on Monday night.
The suspects have been identified as 35-year-old Miguel Mata Lara and 20-year-old Geovanny Ponce Paulin. They are both charged with one count of grand larceny auto.
According to the Hattiesburg Police Department, they received a call about a stolen vehicle around 8:20 p.m. According to the reporting party, he had left his vehicle running while he went inside a nearby store.
While he was in the store, two males entered the vehicle and drove away while heading westbound on Highway 98, police said.
Officers were notified that the Lamar County Sheriff’s Office was out with a vehicle matching the description and license plate provided. Deputies were conducting a check
