John Schneider had enough of the Shohei Ohtani experience Monday.
The Blue Jays manager intentionally walked the hitter four times after he burned the Jays for a pair of homers and doubles in his first four at-bats. It won’t get any easier to avoid him Tuesday, as the two way talent will take the mound for Game 4 while still hitting leadoff.
When asked if he will continue taking the bat out of Ohtani’s hands, Schneider gave a short but clear “yeah” in his post-game press conference, that bled into the early hours of Tuesday morning after the 18-inning marathon.
That shows one game plan but how they will deal with Ohtani the pitcher is a little less clear, given that the Jays haven’t seen him on the mound since 2022.
