Meaford is appointing Eric Ennis to the vacant council seat.
Council approved the appointment during a special meeting on Tuesday.
Ennis was sworn in during the meeting and will serve for the remainder of the term of council. His first council meeting will be on Nov. 3.
This comes after last month when council declared the seat vacant following Steven Bartley resigning from the role as his family planned to move to Chatsworth, outside the boundaries of Meaford.
Council opted to call for nominees to fill the vacant council seat, where residents applied through the municipality’s website.
