PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- A Chicago law firm announced on Tuesday that Reditus Laboratories must pay a $5.5 million to refund taxpayers for improper payments during COVID-19 pandemic.
The Pekin-based company, founded by Aaron Rossi, was sued by their former medical director Lorine LaGatta. In the suit, which the company lost, she revealed the company's misconduct, said David Fish, an attorney with Workplace Law Partners..
"The settlement returns millions of dollars to federal, state, and local governments and recognizes Dr. LaGatta’s courageous role in exposing the alleged misconduct. The total amount of the settlement is $5.5 million," Fish said.
