CINCINNATI —
One person was taken to the hospital after being shot by police during a welfare check in Madisonville.
According to Cincinnati police, officers and VA social workers responded to the 6000 block of Haley Avenue around 2 p.m. for a welfare check. Advertisement
Cincinnati Interim Chief Adam Hennie said at some point during the welfare check officers made contact with the individual who brandished a firearm and shots were fired by police.
The person was taken to the hospital where they are being treated for non-life-threatening injuries. No officers were injured.
No further details were provided. Hennie said they will provide updates at a press conference sometime Wednesday.
