LEWISBURG — A group of residents plans to establish the Eli Slifer Foundation to preserve the historic Slifer House in Lewisburg, which faces possible demolition by its current owner.
Incorporating as a nonprofit organization would allow the group to apply for grants, manage funds and continue advocacy for the site's long-term protection. RiverWoods and Albright Care Services, owner of the 164-year-old Slifer House at 80 Magnolia Drive, said earlier this year that the property is likely to be demolished.
