The Boston Celtics got off the schneid on Monday night, defeating the New Orleans Pelicans and improving to 1-3 on the young season.
After getting crushed on the glass in their previous two defeats against the New York Knicks and Detroit Pistons, the Celtics took advantage of a Zion Williamson-less Pelicans group to out-rebound their opponents, 54-35.
Still, Boston enters action on Tuesday tied with the Los Angeles Clippers for first in the NBA in opponent’s offensive rebounds per game at 15.3.
Having lost centers Al Horford, Kristaps Porzingis and Luke Kornet over the offseason, the rebounding concerns likely won’t be going away anytime soon.
