EUGENE, Ore. - The Lane County Sheriff’s Office is urging residents to prioritize safety on the roads this Halloween week. Despite not having a dedicated traffic team for DUI enforcement, deputies remain committed to community safety.
The Sheriff's Office advises planning a safe ride home if consuming alcohol or drugs, ensuring intoxicated individuals do not drive, and always wearing a seatbelt.
A recent series of DUII arrests highlights the risks. On Oct. 21, Samuel Ruiz Cortes, 36, of Eugene, was arrested for DUII after a traffic stop for a traffic violation at River Road and Railroad Boulevard.
