PITTSFIELD -- The MCI Huskies have advanced to the semi-final round of the Class C field hockey playoffs after defeating Stearns 4-0 on Tuesday afternoon.
In the a very defensive first half of play, each team's goalkeepers recorded a number of save. Stearns senior goalkeeper Ava Pelkey faced several point blank shots, all of which she saved.
In the closing minutes of the half, the Stearns offense was looking to score the game's first points, but a nice crossing pass was broken up by senior center fullback Vivian Walker, who earned possession back for the Huskies and kept the game scoreless going into halftime.
Early in the third quarter, the Huskies earned a corner insert opportunity. A nice sequence of passes around the arc moved the Stearns defense enough to leave senior center midf
