CHULA VISTA (FOX5/KUSI) -- Officers responded to a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian Monday around 8:52 p.m. in the area of 100 Fourth Ave. in Chula Vista, according to the Chula Vista Police Department.
When officers arrived, they discovered a 66-year-old man from Chula Vista was crossing the street at the intersection when a white Scion TC that was traveling northbound struck the man, according to the report.
Fire personnel rendered life-saving measures to the man, who is reportedly being treated for significant injuries at a trauma center.
According to police, the driver is a 58-year-old man from Chula Vista who remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation.
