MILWAUKEE (CBS 58) - A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Tuesday afternoon, to celebrate the completion of a project that transforms a one-mile section of the Little Menomonee River Parkway on the northwest side.
The area from W. Leon Terrace to W. Appleton Avenue is now a dedicated off-street walking and biking trail.
County Supervisor Deanna Alexander says this kind of conversion is a way to connect neighborhoods.
"And when we're able to connect our neighborhoods so that it is easy to walk out your front door, ride your bike, take a walk with your family and enjoy the outdoors, we have the ability to keep our neighborhoods, our families, our community connected and to grow stronger together," Supervisor Alexander said.
