BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - The Warren County Public Library is asking the community to help name a pair of life-size lion statues that now guard the front entrance of the Lisa Rice Branch in downtown Bowling Green.

Similar to the New York Public Library’s famous lions Patience and Fortitude, the newly-installed lions need names of their own, and WCPL is putting it up to a vote.

“The lions kind of continue that tradition of public art in our spaces. We thought it would be a fun way to engage with the community to ask them to vote on our lion’s names because we want them to be symbols of the library and get the patrons involved in it,” said Maegan Miles, WCPL marketing director.
