LOS ANGELES — Blue Jays manager John Schneider says that slugger George Springer is “hour to hour” and “day to day” after he left a loss in Game 3 of the World Series due to injury.
Schneider says that Springer felt something grab in his right side during an at-bat in the seventh inning of a 6-5, 18-inning loss to Los Angeles.
The Dodgers have a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.
Speaking at a pre-game media session in his office, Schneider says he plans to give Springer a “little bit more time” before deciding on his lineup for Game 4.
Springer hit .309 this past season with 32 homers and 84 RBIs.
Schneider also says that rookie Trey Yesavage will start Game 5 on Wednesday night at Dodger Stadium.
