Srinagar, Oct 28: The government has assured that the long-pending Daand Kadal Bridge in Langate will soon move into the execution stage, marking a key step in improving road connectivity in the area.
In a written reply to a question by MLA Khursheed Ahmad Shiekh, the government said that the Detailed Project Report (DPR) titled “Retrofitting of Dandkadal Bridge over Nallah Mawer at Langate” is already under process for the accord of administrative approval amounting to Rs 571 lakh. The work will commence in the next phase once funds are made available.
Officials confirmed that the bridge had sustained heavy damage during the April 2023 flash floods, delaying the project. The new plan focuses on structural strengthening to ensure durability against future calamities.
