GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) - Greenville City Council discussed the first reading of an amendment that would set new rules for public comments at meetings.

The amendment would allow citizens who wish to speak about agenda items to do so at the beginning of the meeting, and people who want to speak about non-agenda items would have two minutes to do so at the end of the meeting.

The council will prioritize those who live in the city over those who live outside.

The council voted to pass the first reading of the amendment. It will be followed up with a second.
