Another big extension in the NHL is coming into focus.
The Dallas Stars and star defenceman Thomas Harley are nearing an extension, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman reported on Tuesday.
Friedman expects the deal to be for eight years with an AAV around $10.5 million.
The 24-year-old Harley has become a big piece of the Stars’ core over the past two seasons.
In 2024-25, he recorded 16 goals and 34 assists over 78 games. He also added four goals and 10 assists over 18 playoff games.
Through nine games this season, Harley has one goal and seven assists.
Harley was also called up to the Canadian roster at the 4 Nations Face-Off in February after Shea Theodore suffered an injury.
He picked up an assist in Canada’s 3-2 overtime win over the United States in the tournament final.
