SEATTLE — A Seattle immigration judge was fired in September, joining a growing number of immigration judges laid off by the Trump administration across the country.
Susana Reyes, who served as an immigration judge for only a short time, completed her probation this year. Why she and others like her were dismissed remains unclear.
Another recent dismissal was Ted Doolittle, who lost his position in September from the Hartford, Connecticut, immigration court.
“I had always wanted to be a judge ever since I was a kid, even before I went to law school,” Doolittle said via Zoom on Monday.
He said it was a dream come true when he was sworn in as an immigration judge in September 2023.
