BECKLEY, WV (WVNS) -- Despite the government shutdown, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, is still up and running.
The FAFSA gives federal aid to students going into or continuing their college education.
Student Financial Service Advisor Latishche Hamby with WVU Tech said to not be afraid to send in your application.
"It's just a plethora of questions that can sometimes be intimidating for people to fill out. Or to offer up that information and feel comfortable giving that. But I would tell them don't be afraid and to know that WVU Tech, we're always here to help," said Hamby.
Hamby said FAFSA also offers the Promise Scholarship and a Higher Education grant for those who complete the FAFSA.
Those deadlines are March 1, 2026 and April 15th, 2026, respectively.
