Lakeshore Drive in Eustis became the site of a large-scale pumping operation on Tuesday as crews worked to remove millions of gallons of water from the area.

Homes were still inundated when WESH 2 visited on Tuesday, underscoring the sheer magnitude of how much rain fell in this part of Lake County.

Rough estimates put the amount of water that has to be removed from the area in the tens of millions.

Officials had to briefly close Lakeshore Drive to traffic on Tuesday for further damage assessments by the county.

Meanwhile, Julie Cavellero spent the day Tuesday with visits from assessors and mitigation crews as standing water remained inside her home.

She said she and her husband had just finished a full-home renovation the week before last.
