The meeting at the Tsakopoulos Library focused on finding shared strategies as encampments spread across city lines. Sheriff Jim Cooper emphasized that law enforcement must be part of the discussion, citing 20,000 citizen complaints in three years, while fire officials warned the crisis is straining 911 resources. Local leaders pledged to collaborate to make homelessness “rare, brief, and non-recurring.”
