WEST VIRGINIA (WVNS) - The loss of funding for programs such as SNAP and WIC will be felt across the state as early as November, 1, 2025. Local organizers have encouraged residents to utilize the 2-1-1 hotline to connect with local resources.
The free and confidential line can connect users with assistance for food, housing, childcare, and many other issues facing West Virginia residents.
Executive Director with the United Way of Southern West Virginia, Trena Dacal said 2-1-1 is an especially important resource currently as the ongoing government shutdown leads to continued funding loss nationwide.
