Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ordered the military to carry out “powerful strikes” in Gaza. This comes after Hamas reportedly fired on Israeli forces in southern Gaza. In response, Hamas announced it would delay handing over the body of a hostage, escalating tensions and putting new pressure on the fragile U.S.-brokered ceasefire.
