A single red rose sat in a vase placed on the Roseville City Council table during Tuesday’s meeting in honor of the death of Councilwoman Janet Haggerty.
Mrs. Haggerty, a longtime member of the city council who was up for election this year, died Oct. 14, according to city officials. She was 82.
“The rose is a symbol of Jan,” Mayor Robert Taylor said. “We all miss her.”
Mrs. Haggerty had been ill for much of 2025, frequently being excused from council meetings.
Her death means at least one new councilman will be elected in the upcoming Nov. 4 election.
