New York and more than two dozen other states sued the Trump administration Tuesday for refusing to fund the federal food assistance during the government shutdown.
On Saturday, 1.8 million city households that rely on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) won’t receive benefits to put food on the table.
The city’s Independent Budget Office is highlighting the impact of federal funding cuts through a series of new reports, including research on how cuts will also hurt Health and Hospitals, public housing and the Department of Education.
Louisa Chafee, director of the city’s Independent Budget Office, joined “Inside City Hall” to break it all down.
