The front office’s offseason drama didn’t guarantee that Steve Kerr was going to play along. The Warriors finally closed a deal with Jonathan Kuminga at the last minute. Yet there was a crucial question looming. Kuminga was not a Coach Kerr type player and his decision to keep Kuminga on the bench last season was a factor in the offseason theatrics. Has all that changed anything? Kerr revealed that it in fact did.
Ahead of the Warriors playing against the Clippers, Steve Kerr refered to Kuminga as ‘an entrenced starter.’ Which means Kerr’s bringing him out of the trenches for the next game.
“Yes. He’ll start tonight and he will be our starter going forward. He’s been fantastic. Last night, put him on Ja. Tonight we will put him on James Harden. I think he’s ready,” the HC told reporter
