LIBERTY COUNTY, Texas (KTRK) -- Investigators say a Liberty County mother claimed her husband took her phone and car keys the day before she's accused of trying to drown her kids and herself.

Jessica Quintana has since been released from the hospital and charged with aggravated assault and two counts of injury to a child stemming from the Sept. 29 botched drowning at her 300-acre estate.

In a probable cause affidavit, sheriff's deputies say Quintana told them that she and her husband had been having problems.

They say she told them that on Sept. 28, he had taken her phone and refused to give it back.

When she attempted to leave with her three children, she told them she discovered her car was locked and that her husband had the keys.
