TOWSON, Md. —
Maryland food banks are preparing for increased demand after the Trump administration decided against utilizing available contingency funds to support SNAP .
Nickisha Edwards, a Baltimore resident who relies on SNAP, is concerned about the situation.
"It's going to be a struggle," Edwards said.
Edwards highlighted the challenges of rising food prices and the need to feed children.
"It's going to be hard for me. It really is. You people have children, I'm saying they have to eat, too. So, I mean, in the stores, prices are going up and up, so something has to be done," Edwards said. "It's not going to be right because people don't want to be starving, and then they have to rush and ration out this, that and the third."
