HERMITAGE, Pa. (WKBN) - A Hermitage homeowner can continue operating his landscaping business out of a residential neighborhood, with restrictions.
That was the ruling Tuesday by the Hermitage Zoning Hearing Board. It means Edward Boyle can continue to run his business, Boyles Landscaping, out of a large garage recently built behind his house on Butterfly Lane.
What Boyle can not do is operate his skid steer on the property or store any materials or equipment outside of the garage.
Tony Paglia, who lives next door and wanted the business shut down, said of the ruling, "It was shocking. It opens the door for commercial and industrial businesses to operate in residential areas. I think it was a mistake."
