New Delhi: In a major development, the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office has confirmed that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched massive attacks on Hamas positions in Gaza after its soldiers came under fire. These strikes were carried out following orders from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. It is important to note that Netanyahu had earlier said that he had instructed the army to launch “powerful attacks” in Gaza. The Israeli assault on Gaza is being seen as a major test for the ceasefire brokered by US President Donald Trump.
