The Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday got off to an ideal start to their five-game road trip.

Dylan Larkin tallied two goals and an assist Alex DeBrincat scored a goal and contributed an assist and the Red Wings turned in a strong defensive performance to defeat the St. Louis Blues 5-2 at the Enterprise Center.

The Red Wings (7-3-0) have won back-to-back games against the Blues (3-6-1) and evened their road record to 2-2-0.

John Gibson made 20 saves to raise his record to 4-2-0. The Red Wings limited the Blues to four shots in the third period.

The Red Wings scored four unanswered goals after Brayden Schenn opened the scoring 47 seconds into the game.

Ben Chiarot tied it at 12:01 when his shot from the point beat Jordan Binngton.
