DALLAS — Members of the Fort Worth ISD Board of Trustees plan to present their case to the state Commissioner of Education on Thursday, a week after the TEA announced it would take over the district and appoint a board of managers to govern it.
The Thursday meeting was not described as a formal appeal, but rather an "informal review" and was scheduled by the TEA itself when it announced the state takeover last week.
"The district has a right to participate in an informal review regarding the appointment of both the board of managers and the conservator," TEA Commissioner Mike Morath wrote in his Oct. 23 enforcement letter.
