WASHINGTON — The Mega Millions jackpot has surpassed $700 million for only the ninth time in the game's history for Tuesday night's drawing, surging to $714 million as the winless streak continues.
No ticket matched all six numbers drawn on Friday night. The last time someone won the Mega Millions jackpot was a $348 million prize on June 27.
A winning ticket on Tuesday would have a cash value of about $334 million. It would be the second-largest prize ever won in October, still less than half of the $1.537 billion won almost exactly seven years ago on Oct. 23, 2018.
Tuesday's winning numbers were 2-19-33-53-61 and Mega Ball 14.
Mega Millions drawings take place Tuesdays and Fridays at 11 p.m. Eastern Time.
