SHREVEPORT, La. (KSLA) - Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry made a stop in Shreveport today, speaking exclusively with KSLA News 12 on a range of pressing issues impacting north Louisiana.
During the governor’s visit, he addressed his recent statement regarding the addition of a statue of Charlie Kirk to LSU’s campus .
Landry defended his position, stating, “Charlie Kirk is symbolic of our First Amendment, and it’s not a better place to put a symbol of our First Amendment than on college campuses. And after seeing 1,500 people in that auditorium last night, and the way they were cheering, the energy that was there. I don’t think it’s a better symbol of the First Amendment than Charlie Kirk.”
