CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Luigi Mangione, the man accused of killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, is reportedly winning admiration in prison. The Ivy League grad has earned the nickname “ambassador” among fellow inmates. The 27-year-old has apparently made it a point to help other inmates when they arrive to the prison. According to Mangione’s lawyer, he is “a model prisoner.” Mangione faces state and federal charges related to Thompson’s murder. Is this another instance of society turning criminals into martyrs?
