Fort Wayne Community Schools and area college leaders are expected today to announce a groundbreaking partnership designed to improve access to higher education for district students.

The Higher Education Coalition comprises six northeast Indiana campuses along with Vincennes University, a southern Indiana institution that has partnered with FWCS for several years through the North Side Early College program, district officials said.

“This is a beginning,” Superintendent Mark Daniel told The Journal Gazette in an exclusive interview Monday. “I’m sure others will want to join because of the future success this is going to yield.”
