An armed duo have been charged over a daylight robbery in western Sydney earlier this month.

Two men - one armed with a firearm - allegedly forced their way into a licenced premises on Joseph Street in Lidcombe just after 1pm on October 6.

They allegedly threatened staff and customers before stealing cash and fleeing in a white Toyota hatchback.

No injuries were reported.

Police established a crime scene and opened inquiries before referring the case to State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad under Strike Force Patcardi.

About 6pm on Tuesday, police found a stationary vehicle in Lakemba and carried out a search, where they allegedly found and seized a knife.

Strike force detectives, supported by POLAir and the Tactical Operations Unit, carried out the operation.
