INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis City-County Council is addressing making it safer to work for the city.

It comes after an investigation into Mayor Joe Hogsett administration's response to harassment claims against a former top aide to the mayor.

Three HR experts gave their feedback on the steps the city has taken and could take to protect employees from sexual harassment.

"This is an important, sensitive topic, and we appreciate your engagement as we work towards a safer, more accountable workforce for all city employees," Councilor Dan Boots (D-District 3) said during the meeting.

The Rules and Public Policy Committee gathered Tuesday for one reason: To learn from experts about any appropriate actions they should consider.
