FREEMAN, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -It’s been an incredible rise of the Phoenix in 9-AA Football.

And as our Sam Tastad found out, it’s been extra special when you consider that the once dominant Freeman Flyers were forced to drop football at one point.

Ironically, Marion will be joining Parker after this football season. So it’s a chance for this co-op to make more history and give these kids stories to tell for a lifetime.

“There’s a couple coaches that were on those teams so every once in awhile, they give us a story,” said Freeman/FA/Marion senior quarterback Riley Tschetter.

“I was on three of the championships, the first three,” said Freeman/FA/Marion head coach Dustin Tschetter.

“It’s something you will remember the rest of your life. This would be a return to some of our old days
