Police in Zomba have detained several students from Kingdom Builders Academy for allegedly destroying school property on Tuesday night.
The students were reportedly angered by the poor quality of food being served at the institution.
Some students said that about twenty learners, mostly those in Form Four, were taken into custody.
Zomba Police spokesperson Inspector Patricia Sipiliano confirmed the detention but did not reveal the exact number of students detained.
School authorities declined to comment on the matter.
Reports indicate that the students switched off the lights and broke windows during the protest, prompting police action.
