Rhode Island's first temporary homeless shelter village is set to remain on Victor Street in Providence for at least another year.
The State Properties Committee on Tuesday, Oct. 28, extended the lease for the ECHO Village shelter, which opened in February after years of delay, through the end of September 2026.
ECHO Village comprises 45 one-room "Pallet Shelters" plus community buildings, bathrooms showers and around-the-clock services and security.
