Brown could be in for another tense battle while attempting to reach the next women’s basketball version of Ivy Madness.

The Bears were picked fifth in the preseason poll released last week and studied further during Tuesday morning’s virtual media day. Princeton received 17 of the 21 available first-place votes while being installed as the favorite.

Columbia picked up three first-place votes and Harvard claimed the last to form a strong top three. The Tigers, Lions and Crimson all reached March Madness last season, with Harvard prevailing in the conference tournament at Pizzitola Center . Penn claimed the fourth spot in that field via a third tiebreaker against Brown – the Quakers closed the season with a superior NET ranking to the Bears.
