Hopefully you have already or are acclimatizing indoor plants and others that will live inside your home this winter to their new environment. The best environment that we can provide for our indoor plants is not friendly to tropical plants. Light, humidity, and improper watering are the biggest problems.

Weakened plants, whether indoors or outside, are more susceptible to problems. My experience is that insect pests are my biggest problem. Let’s look at how to manage some of these issues.

Little can be done regarding light other than utilizing the natural light that is available to the maximum extent possible. Artificial light can be provided, however if the plants are numerous and/or large, this can be a difficult solution.
