Winter Fuel Payments will be going out to around nine million pensioners from Saturday, November 1.
The support payments are worth either £200 or £300 depending on age, with over-80s getting the higher amount.
They are designed to help those on lower incomes keep their homes heated during the colder months.

But not all pensioners will get to keep the cash, as has happened in previous years.
New eligibility rules are in place for Winter Fuel Payments this year.
Pensioners will get them if they have an annual income below £35,000.
Everyone who has more than that amount will not qualify.
