Sainsbury's big October 2025 change Nectar scheme sparks backlash over 'faffing' View 2 Images
Sainsbury's customers have voiced their discontent over a significant alteration to the Nectar points system, labelling it as 'tedious and unnecessary'. The supermarket has informed its customers that they will now need to use a QR code within the loyalty scheme's app to both collect and redeem points.
This modification means that shoppers will no longer be able to redeem points using the current in-store barcode system, although they can still collect points this way. Sainsbury's is encouraging customers to update their app to the latest version to access the new QR code, which can be found on the home screen.
Customers will have the option to add the QR code to their phone's digital wallet
