What is Issue 2? Summit County pushes measure as pathway to limit property taxes

When Summit County voters go to the polls, they'll see Issue 2 on their ballots — a proposed charter amendment designed to shield property owners from major rate increases on at least a portion of their tax bill when their valuations rise.

Brian Nelsen, Summit County Executive Ilene Shapiro's chief of staff, said the amendment primarily would limit how much money the county can collect for criminal justice and public safety support.
