In the UK, one in four adults is affected by acid reflux, and many individuals will experience it at some point in their lives, particularly after substantial meals.
Those who consistently suffer from it may be prescribed PPIs like omeprazole to help manage symptoms. However, Dr Punam has outlined why individuals taking the medication need to exercise caution, especially if they are taking it for an extended period and emphasises the importance of regular check-ups.
